CT335....Where to get Engine Block Heater?

Lets talk block heaters for the CT335.

First off, where would the plug/harness be located on the CT335? I looked around, but don't see one. I guess they don't come equipped from the factory with one.

I really need one (yes, even in TN where we had 5" of snow today :confused2

as there have been several times when the temp is below 20 degrees and the tractor starts, but kind of sputters for a few seconds. Can't be very good for the engine.

In any event, where did you get your block heater, cost, and how much of a hassle to put it in?

I had the dealer install for me new before it even left the shop a lower rad hose heater. It would be easy to do afterwards in all that you need to know is the inside diameter of the lower rad hose. You cut the hose and install it like you were putting in a double ended pipe joiner and 2 hose clamps. They consume about 300 watts, and in about 1 hour the engine is ready to go. I would NOT leave this style on continously. It is much easier than a engine block heater that goes in the frost plugs.

I had mine installed at the dealer when I purchased the tractor. It takes about an hour to install and uses the the frost plug located behind the alternator on the CT335. The one thing I have noticed is when I use the the block heater that the heater hose off the thermostat housing which appears to be the only hose on the unit that uses spring clamps always leaks a little while the engine is being preheated by the block heater. When the tractor is running no leak.

Would I be imposing too much to ask if you could snap a photo and post it? I'm wondering if I need to get a BC one, or any one with the proper diameter plug would work.

I would go with the Bobcat model. There is no diameter size (assuming the hole is metric) posted on the installation instruction. The unit also looks a little different than ones I've seen off the shelf at automotive stores. Too cold here to hope the camera could take a good picture.

Egads! $110? It was $45 to have mine installed from the dealer before delivery.

Mine is a CT230, but I wouldn't think it would be over double for the 335.

The block heater is the same in all of the Bobcats except the CT120-122
I have aftermarket ones on my shelf for $42.88

I had the Bobcat block heater installed in my ct335 prioir to delivery, It really helps in cold starting. It is located just under the lower left side engine cover near the loader mount. The plug pokes out under the cover and zipties nicely to one of the wire conduits there. Its easy to access and use without dangling. I recommend checking with your local Bobcat dealer for the kit.
