dirt pan

A friend picked up an old Henry pan scrapper (of about one and a half yards capacity) a couple of years ago and pulls it behind my John Deere 'R'. He had moved quite a bit of dirt with a skid steer previous to getting the Henry and he said the Henry was miles ahead of the skidsteer in both speed and comfort for moving dirt. The old 'R' is only rated at 48 hp but it will develop over 6600 lbs of pull on the drawbar. It's ballasted right up and with operator weighs in over 10,000 lbs. It handles the Henry quite well. :D

Go to http://digitalcommons.unl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1093&context=tractormuseumlit for the Nebraska tractor test for the `R`.

. There also is a 1-1.5 yd scraper that the old-timers used to make ponds and such called a "tumble weed" by virtue of its all mechanical operation, with only a trip rope.

That would have been a "tumble bug" I believe.

You are probably correct--I just remember tumble something!!!:confused2: And the only thing that came to mind was weed!

I have a 3 yard dirt pan used with a Kubota m7040. The thing is great for moving dirt and shapping of swells. I absolutly love it.

Kenny V is right (again) Kubota L 5030 works great with the DB-6. 1 1/2 yd and with the loader bucket full aswell it moves a lot of dirt or rock quickly for a compact tractor. does a fine job and the tractor handles it. I have moved many thoundsand yards with mine. I have dug my lagoon and many other projects.
I have even spread 2 semi loads on 1 1/2" rock, took about an hour. Mine does dig into hard ground and turf. The frost bit makes it work great under harder conditions.
Now that I have a new L 5740 the extra hp is nice. They do make a 4' and 5' model if memory is right. These do attach to bottom arms of 3 point since that is stronger than the draw bar.

I have one like 3Bladz. These little scrapers were made by the Overland Company, I believe in California. I found an operators manual for them on ebay... Actually was designed to be pulled behind the N series Fords.

I have pulled it with as little as my Super C, but will put my Massey 180 on it's knee's, if you try to crowd it too much. It has definitely earned it's keep around here..!! Not pretty but it works great..!!

One of the best $100.00, I've ever spent..!!
