Never thought about using PEX. If you are using PEX, why not just use air hose?

Eddie

As mentioned, diameter and price were a factor, but for me, I wanted the lengths to be right, and not have extra coils. I have not figured out yet how to terminate ends on the airlines yet. (actually wondering if I could use Pex crimp rings on barb fittings, or maybe just the standard pex if I could find corresponding airlines)

In the basement I just did the airline deal with coils hanging where it was too short or too long.

You should be able to buy PEX to NPT fitings.

Do you have PEX with a outer coating or sleeve? Regular PEX is not rated for exterior exposure, and will degrade fairly quickly. The brand I have used warns about this and says the pipe will be degraded after 60 days exposure.

That's what I did, just bought a 100 foot roll of air hose and use that for my permanent air line. Put in a "T" fitting with barbs on each end and use little hose clamps to hold it tight. I use it to feed two air hose reels on opposite sides of my shop and it seems to be working perfectly so far.
