I'm working on installing work lights on my JD 2210. The problem is that I cannot get the lights to turn on. I've located the extra red/black wire above the PTO twisted the wires together but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks for your input.

The lights will also a require a path to ground.

The red/black wire may not have a fuse in the terminal strip if this is the factory work light. Jaylegger is correct do you have the negative connection bolted to the tractor ( MAIN FRAME ) electricity will not conduct through rubber isolation mounts on ROPS.
Check the new lights with a 12 volt source ( maybe they dont work )

most of the rear work lights on the smaller Deeres were red w yellow and a black ground
You might not have the right wires

I just bought some Speaker LED lights. One of them would not turn on either. It turned out the plug was reverse wired (and LEDS, unlike normal lights do not work when reverse wired).

It was obvious when put alongside one that worked. Now working - superb!

Working with Aux Lighting and OEM Wiring is not always the best solution unless you use the OEM Wiring to activate a relay which will control main power to the Aux Lights.

Probe the wires with a Multimeter and mark the wires before starting the project.

How is this going ?

Did you add the lights ?

What wattage were they ?

How did you end up wiring the lights ?

Hah! Awhile back a guy told me about his first run in with LEDs! He had bought a bunch of LED lights for his trailer and half of them didn't work...took them back to the store and gave them a blistering chew out. They put them on their test station and lo and behold, all worked. They hooked them up both ways to show him that you did indeed have to pay attention to polarity. His said his face must have been redder than the lights with embarrassment! :D

Mace! That's a killer! LED is short for Light Emitting Diode. A diode works like a one way valve for electrical current. If it doesn't turn on, turn it around. Also, if you're soldering the connections, put a heat sink clamp on the wire between the solder and the LED. LEDs are heat sensitive too.
