This is the first winter my 4400HST has had the "opportunity" to stay outside and commune with nature all winter whereas it has always been parked in a heated basement garage.

What is the installation procedure in installing the $75 block heater in the water jacket -- from the parts dept. description, it sounds like it is a matter of draining the radiator, unscrewing a plug and screwing in the block heater and refilling the radiator. OTOH, that sounds too simple -- can anyone shed some light on what is needed for the installation of an OEM block heater on a 4400HST?

Thanks

Shouldn't be any more difficult than that.

What part of it seems out of whack?

What is the part number?

Nothing seemed out of whack -- just did not want to get in over my head which I too often do with my DIY jobs -- this one appears easy.

I installed mine on my L4400 HST-1 and I had to remove a freeze plug and insert the threaded piece in place of the freeze plug. I took about an hour and a half taking my time. The heater came with a good set of directions as well.
