I don't believe this "S#it"! Still waiting........
Just an 'aside': I love my tractor, like my wife and my kids! (OK, maybe that's a little overboard)......But wouldn't a reasonable TBN Member want his Tractor fixed ASAP? And, be there to pick it up when the last bolt was 'torqued'! I know I'd probably be a PITA, with calls, until that last bolt got 'torqued'. Something hasn't rung true, in this whole caper........~S
i will come and pick it up if he dont wont it. it does seem like he really needs it and i could find something to do with it
My spidey-sense is tingling...
Unfortunately i bet the next thing you hear from this "customer" will be coming via his lawyer.
.
I've been back and forth on posting this for several days-
Would a "professional courtesy" call to the other dealer be appropriate? The tractor owner said he was going to trade it immediately, the repairing-dealer offered to deliver it to that site to facilitate the trade, now the owner is a no show.
I would be concerned for the other dealer as well.
I know in some business circles, there is "networking" to keep track of scammer's and such. Might be an idea to establish something like this.
I would not throw out the idea that something else is going on in the owners life right now that may be impeding his ability to take care of this last part.![]()
Our dealer here is smart enough to be careful. The customer almost certainly has nothing left, had nothing to begin with and will fade away. He has already told shaky circumstance, threatened when inappropriate and not honored reasonable requests. Would you do business with such a customer? These are not characteristics of winners. As well, I'd bet no other dealer is even out there except as a fringe conversation. Our good dealer has all the cards.
Trouble is, most of us on this board have higher standards, honor our obligations and tend to think others behave the same way because that's who our contacts are. We also maintain our equipment and generally view issues as right or wrong. What would you think of someone that didn't? Would you trust or believe them to honor their statements?
This is a almost certainly a non-event in a slighty non-typical business transaction that will end happily ever after and when the weather warms will be long forgotten. Well, except for the party hats and beer bottles under the couch.
