I have dk50 hst with a erskine 72, 72". Depending on the snow its about all it can handle. I wouldn't look bigger than 6'. I bought one because winters can be tough in North Idaho or so I was told. Been here two years and have only used blower maybe 4-5 times. One problem I have with front mounted rear pto driven unit is low ground clearance. It only sits above ground a foot or so, this can be a problem when enter/exiting drive to road because of incline. Wish they would have had a mid pto unit. Just my two cents.

hmmm. i was looking at the rear hydraulic power pack unit instead of the direct drive unit. i dont know how much snowblower i can handle. i keep getting different information. where in north idaho you located. north of coeur d'alene myself. we had a light year this year....but remember 2 and 3 years ago...36" of snow in a day. i want to be prepaired. i also worried about ground clearance, thats why i was thinking about the front loader mount units

I'm in naples, about 20 miles north of Sandpoint. Not sure but be careful not to oversize with hyd. run blower. I think there is a formula for figuring hp drop. Someone on here could tell you. We weren't living here for the snowy winters, we did visit. I love the snow. We had a cabin in the u.p. of michigan and we would get 175-250" of snow a year.

I was contemplating mounting my 3ph snowblower on the loader of my DK45SE HST and running it with a PTO hydro pump.

Lots of good advice and suggestions in this discussion http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/157884-how-do-i-make-3-a.html

Bottom line - it is doable but pricey. Haven't made the leap yet but still have it percolating away in the back of my mind. Yesterday's snow storm sure brings it to the forefront quickly.

Good luck on your project.

Check out Michigan Iron - they have done this and are very helpful.
