power beyond to run snowblower?

/ power beyond to run snowblower? #11
There's a few on here that have built there own, and several of us pondering it. If I can I'm going to try and attack mine this summer. I've got it pretty much planned out, just need to execute it.

Google "Jer Home Made hydraulic power pack" to find a nice chat about the planning of it. There's a lot to consider - HP needed for blower (5hp per foot roughly), Flow and pressure needed to produce said HP, hose diameter to allow laminar flow of said pressure and flow, valving, relief valves, filters, size of reservoir, motor, pump, etc.

I really want to snowblow going forward!! and I want a cab. It was -37degC here this morning, and I frostbit my ears last evening hauling bales......booooo.....

ya, its the cold that finally did me in. it seemed that no matter which way i was facing ....the wind was always blowing the drift back to me. and wearing that snow suit obscured some of my eyesight...making it dangerous. i really am going to love my cab..........almost cant wait till next winter . also, thanks for the info. ive been playing with hydraulic lines before...built a set of grapples, a log splitter and made my own rotating chute for my current snowblower. i might just see if i could build my own power behind system. a front mount blower really isnt any more expensive than a good rear push....cept fo all the hydraulics. one site i went to wanted $6,000 just for the hydraulic system. but the jury is still out as to what i can get before next year.
