The best way to deal with this is for you to first check the fuel and make sure there is no water In it then you should check the fuel filter and make make sure it's not clogged then you should change it and see if fuel flows through it if it does not check in you gas tank for any clogs at the begging of the main line but if fuel is flowing through it choke the machine all the way and let her try to start for 2 mins if it still does not start check the or just replace the spark plugs and if that that does not work check the carborater and see if it might br gunk or if a screw broke on any of the hooks on it but if it's a diesel check or replace the glow plugs then check the injectors. The 770 is a diesel and it has an intake air heater, not glow plugs. If the simple suggestions made on TBN don't work and 4Kings doesn't have the skills, it probably time to let a dealer mech work on it.
As a real quick example, my 790 was left out for a day or two and then wouldn't start. Headlamps were bright.
It would crank, but that drew the battery down pretty quick. I jumped it from a known good battery which got the starter turning fast enough. So, time for a new battery. Cranked fine, but didn't start.
Well, now it seemed like a fuel problem so I went through what most posters here suggested. This transpired over a week or so. No help...still didn't start.
Well, I figured it was one of two things...either jumped timing or an electrical problem. Since I'm an "OK" mechanic (at best) and definitely not good at electrical problems, it was time for the dealer to check it out.
Few days later, I got the diagnosis. It was a bad terminal on the wiring harness. Of course, Deere doesn't sell that terminal as a separate piece, so I'm looking at a $600 wiring harness plus labor. Fortunately, my dealer is a good guy with a good service dept. They found a similar terminal and installed that. Tractor worked fine since.
Some problems are easily found...the thermistor problem on the older 4xxx series Deeres is a good example. It's also an easy, cheap fix.
Other problems, like 4Kings is experiencing, aren't so easy and making a wrong diagnosis can result in more problems then it fixes.
