a bit of a tangent here, but related......
1) always, ALWAYS get uninsured motorists insurance. amazing how many are driving w/o insurance esp. w/the economy. i've been saved by it as i was rear ended by teenager w/o insurance.
2) unlike most americans, i keep my vehicles a long time (not just hobby ones) my '92toyota truck drives like a new one & in some respects is better built than the ones today. my 98 honda prelude is pristine. 96 Rav 4 beats the h_ll out of new car payments.
BUT: if someone hits me as bad as your unfortunate accident, either insurance co will total it @ blue book...and i would have to buy it back for parts/salvage! i would never be able to replace them, i'd be s_rewed. insurance companies will not insure over blue book on older ones (comprehensive will not cover collisions)
Bottom line: 1) be careful driving your prized vintage 2) ALL the BEST in your current collision repair!!!!!! hope it works out for you....what will it do to the resale value of your truck? bb
