Tractor
Kioti CK20, John Deere L130
Recently aquired 20 acres of partially wooded, mostly level property. Planning on clearing 4 acres for gardening and food plots for hunting. Also creating multiple trails around the property. Once initial clearing is complete, maintaining the food plots, trails and garden will be the big job.
Would like to get a grapple bucket and BH to help with the clean up and maintanance. Additional attachments when the time comes to work the cleared areas.
What are the pros and cons of these two tractors? One has an HST the other has a clutch? One has three cylinders the other has four? Is there less stress on the engine with four cylinders verse three? Plan to clear the property for hunting during the summer months and then get to the garden if time allows this year.
What is your opinion on the size of this tractor, good choice?

Thanks
Jim

The 4005 is a much more durable tractor than the 4105. This tractor has been out since @ '88-'89 as a 970, 990 and now 4005. It is a gear tractor built by Yanmar and is solid as a rock. It is backhoe compatible.

The 4105 is a later model of a 3203 w/ more HP and larger tires. Everything else is a 3203. That tractor is not backhoe compatible. This is more of an economy tractor.

Good Luck.

No, the 4105 is backhoe compatible to the 448 hoe. What are your preferences for tranny? the 4105 is basically an economy tractor, kinda like the difference between the 3005 and the 3032E. They have similar HP and very few differences. I personally favor the hydro for loader work unless it is moving gravel which is where the gear allows more torque to the ground and seems much stronger. Deere has had the 4005 out for a long time, parts will be more available in the long run and it has history to back it up, i cant see how you could go wrong with its good reputation. I would vote for the 4005. :)

That 4005 is a beefy tractor.

I am sure I would love the 4105 but, the 4005 has some good history and has always been on my "next tractor" list. And, I think a gear tractor fits your needs nicely.

Only you can decide.:D

I would also add that the 4005 has a 9/F 3/R transmission. Nice selection for a standard shift.

I like the 3 reverse gears.
