You can have Washington. After 48 years, I'm fed up with the way the government has gone. 14 more years until I retire again and then I'm headed for New Mexico.

What??? Money??? I heard that NM was going to start providing free food, housing, and land to anyone who was doublely retired and moved to their state.:laughing:
wow i didnt get the chance to read all of the pages on this forum but did get most of it. I am only 26 and the way cost of living and such is i am going to have 2/10 acre or so of garden and its just my wife and i. i am seen as a nutcase by most my friends and coworkers becouse all they see me do is work. but its how i grew up and still am donno why but i dont see the point in the idiot box. i dont have cable or dish or nothin barely watch an hr a week.
my idea with the government... well alot of people have agreed with me but how to do it..
EVEYONE In washington that wants in congress, house, president ect. get rid of all benifits.. and give them a set pay of 50000 or so a year., AND if they have any big time bis or investment on the side,. make them sign it off to a good worth wile charity or some sort wile in office... i think then that we will be voting on people that really want to make a difference of the american people instead of playing the game of just livin it easy and collecting some of the most unrealistic benifits ive ever heard of.
dont get me wrong i know there is good ppl in government just seams to me there are too many that play the walk around games and dont have a clue to what they are really doing to this country!

The state of California is the only state out of about a dozen in which I have operated a retail business, where the state gets the tax dollars up front!

Gov Brown will be putting several measures on the June ballot to raise revenue... fun times ahead.
In all fairness... I have noticed a lot of change in the way Washington State operates in the last ten years... in many ways... it is becoming more like CA.
Should have seen that coming when the Governors of WA, OR and CA would get together to implement similar agendas... wood heat is in the cross hairs in Thurston County... this mornings paper said the State isn't doing enough to meet clean air... and then the story is about cap and trade and CO2...
My plan was to make a permanent move to WA and retire... property taxes have put that in jeopardy... several years ago, I started a thread because my taxes went up 80% from the value I paid for my place 18 months ago...
I think the repeal of I-747 opened the floodgates...
I know several retired that lead nomadic lifestyles... either live year-round on a large motor home or boat... it can be very economical tax wise and "Moving" is never a problem...

It's a combonation of the taxation and the anti-farming type thinking/laws which have done me in. I'm ready for someplace warmer, drier, and farmer friendly.

IMO , if the man is getting $900 w.i.c. per month , $9000 back on income tax return (has not paid in near that much ) the w.i.c. should be credited out of the $9000 first . This would give more back to help other needy . This is how I see breaking the back of small businessas well as every taxpayer .
