One problem with old barns is that aren't all the usefull. I did some work for someone that had a old, really nice barn, but it needed work. He said they are more of a liability than a asset. They are to small for modern equipment, people put hay in big round bails, and so many farmers don't have livestock. Unless the owner wants to fix them up as a matter of pride, a lot of them will fall apart.
There is a really nice round barn in this area, near Colchester Illlinois, that is in need of repair.
My insurance agent called mine a "white elephant".
