After moving snow "several" times this winter I usually leave my BX25 outside and cover with a tarp. I've noticed after a few days the BH stabilizers are lowering by themselves sometimes. Not evenly or both at a time but this has happened frequently. Fluids are good. No apparent leaks and all hydraulics seem to work fine after it's warmed up for use. Should I be concerned ? 72hrs so far for only 1 1/2 yrs old...

No worries,

all hydraulic cylinders do this, unless they have check valves to control them. Its more of an annoyance right now and you can chain them up if so desired.

I can't comment on the BH mounted during the winter since I take it off most of the time. I do know that my BX25 BH stablizer leaks down a little in storage even with the hoses hooked together. I just add a bungee to it and it seems to hold.

When I do mount it, the boom does "leak down" if the locking pins isnt in place and not used for a few days and this is normal if you use the BH alot.

I wouldn't be concerned unless it dropped all the way to floor overnight then you got a possible issue. Bungee it up for now.

I had one BH that did not do this for the couple years I had it and I think it was probably due to the way it was designed. When you raised the stabilizers they went to a true vertical with no outward tilt or weight beyond vertical which was unlike most BH stabilizers that hang outside of vertical when raised putting weight/pressure on seals when tractor not running and they then relax down.
On a current Kubota BH65 I started to see a little drop at rest so I just bought a 6' ratchet strap that I hook on each stabilizer pad and cinch it up. I assume it may take any unnecessary pressure off of seals. Works fine and it's a quick on and off. I think it also takes pressure off stabilizers when bouncing around in woods etc.
I agree with Leonz, he had the more direct answer.

Got my #7 JD stabilizers chained up.

Just remember to take the chain off when they are needed.:D

Thanks to all for the replys. I think a couple of bungees will do nicely for now to take any "pressure" off the seals as suggested. Certainly can't do any harm. Sure can't wait for Summer....

Normal. Bungees will keep them up indefinitely.

I stand corrected. :ashamed::ashamed: I am battling a bad head cold right now- no excuse I know. :(;)

There is a lot of that going around now... we are seeing many last two weeks or more.
