Comparison Back Blade - KingKutter vs LandPride

I have had both and you can't go wrong with either, but remember that each makes several different models. For you size tractor and power I would definitely go with a Heavy Duty model.
DevilDog

Depends on what you consider heavy duty, this is a 3000 lb tractor. Doubt it can handle a heavy duty model from LandPride's line up.

If you want your rear blade to actually work, you should be looking at something that is at least in the 500lb range. Anything much lighter than that and has an 84" blade isn't going to do much when it comes to grading. Now if all your going to do is move around snow or light fluffy dirt, then something lighter will work fine. I think that you should at the minimum be looking at a Land Pride RB3584 or equivalent. Again this is if you want to actually work the implement and do some grading.

Based upon the posts here and on other forums - I've decided to go with the Land Pride rear blades. The 15 series is supposedly the one that is suitable for my 38 HP Kubota - but the specs indicate that its inferior to the upper series ones. I'd like to get the RB3584 - but I don't want to take out a loan to pay for it - its a bit beyond my financial reach. The RB2584 seems like a good compromise. The moldboard and scraper edge is the same as the 35 series - but it doesn't "offset" - I guess I can live with that. I got a price of $899 for the RB2584 - which weighs about 425 lbs. I guess I can always add some cement blocks to it if I find it floats too much....

I want to thank all of you for your very good comments.

You will be happy with your decision. I have been very satisfied with my RB1584. Let me know if you want to add hydraulic angle and I will send more detailed pics. Philip.

You will do some nice work with a blade that weighs 425lbs.

Enjoy the labor.:D

Brian,
What do you think of the RBT3584? Looking for something to use with the 110tlb and the 4520. Should I be lokking at the 40 series?

Steve, the RBT3584 is a great blade. Weighs a little over 700lbs and is rated to be worked by a tractor up to 9500lbs, 65hp with a 4x4. the 40 series has the same weight rating, is about 90lbs heavier and rated for another 20hp.

I would love to have an RBT3584 for my smaller tractor, but just can't swing it right now. Do you know that you can get these blades without the hydraulics if you want to? Any combination of hydraulic and manual adjustments that you want.

I bought my 45 series without any hydraulics because I prefer to have welded cylinders and they come with tie rod cylinders. Don't really need the tilt cylinder since we have tilt on our 3pts. Angle and offset is good for me. I also bought the skid shoes, they work great when finish grading or plowing snow.

If you get one of these, please be sure to post about it.

The RBT3584 should be a great fit with your tractors. Brian guided me in the right direction when I bought an RBT4096 for my JD5325. That has been a terrific purchase. The hydraulics are a nice addition......Gary

Gary, not to get off track but a couple of questions for you.

How is your landscape rake?
Did you get your top and tilt?
How many rear remotes did you end up with? If 4, how was that accomplished?
Where are the pictures of all this? ;)

Hi Brian - The landscape rake is as beefy as they come and has been a terrific help in spreading stone and collating limb and vine cuttings from a 1000ft shared driveway. No TnT yet but I've got it figured for taking in off the power beyond. I'll get some pics together when i can get back at it. Everything is snowed in right now. I have a road project that I started just before daily freezing temps followed by heavy snow....very unusual year for us. Here's a couple of pics from that start........Cheers, Gary
