John Deere selection

AKfish,
Neither of us would use a 110tlb for a sole tractor on 300 acres, and neither of us would recommend the 595 backhoe attachment either.

I don't see how the fel is going to replace the backhoe though. I included a pic of the backhoe mounted auger since I had it. According to the OP he does wan't a backhoe.

Not really much specifics about their overall plan but if there is much tillage involved I would still prefer the 5085M for those uses. The 110tlb would be a handy addition.

I was humored by your noting that the 110 and M59 didn't offer an OEM cab, whle you froze your buns off in Kasilof the last three years I have been toasty warm in my Laurin cab. I should add that the Laurin cab is made in a factory of sorts (just not a Deere factory) and that Deere now sells these and will include them under theri finance plan according to my dealer.

You could plant trees with a front-mounted hyd auger (skid-steer attachment) in lieu of a backhoe mounted auger. Of course, there's a slew of different skid-steer type attachments that you could run off the front of an 85M with the optional hydraulics. Plenty of flow and pressure!

If he plans on corn, pumpkins, etc. That's field work in my book! No estimate on acres for each - orchard, etc. But if even 30 acres was devoted to annual crop rotation - that's more than enough - for 75hp.

Yep... I've just about had enough of freezing my keester off in an open station tractor! 7 years is plenty!

I haven't looked at the cost of a 110 lately or a M59... but, I'd venture with the $8-9K Laurin cab and whatever the added cost to a 59 for the add-on cab you'd actually pay less for a fully tricked out 5085M!
