It's not necessarily that the city dwellers vote while the country mice stay home. The city dwellers often have more than half the vote. At least that's the case in my state (Washington). Seattle and King County (which is all urban) control the entire state whenever they want to at the polls. How do you convince city folks to vote correctly?
I have a Chevron near the US/Canadian border where I live that sells diesel for 15 to 20 cents higher per gallon than a Chevron a mere 8 (EIGHT!) miles to the south. Kills me to pay more... but I would barely save any money by making the 16 mile round trip to the one further away. It's highway robbery!
