Re - Caps ? Anyone run them?

I.m still wondering ... some of you have shared "when my dad" ... this is 2011 are they any better and would you run them in todays world on your farm pickup truck ...

I used to use recaps when I was younger and did not have problems with them, but they were on a VW beetle so not much weight. I have not tried to find recaps for pickups so I'm not even sure they are available around here. But, to answer your question as to what I would do:

Pickup truck limited to ranch - Yes
Pickup truck on highway - No
Car - No
Peterbilt dump truck - steer axle - No, drive axle - Yes.

Guidance: Yes. The only CMV that may not utilize retreaded tires is a bus, and then only on its front wheels.

Here is a start.

Regrooved:

c) Regroovable tire means a tire, either original tread or retread, designed and constructed with sufficient tread material to permit renewal of the tread pattern or the generation of a new tread pattern in a manner which conforms to this part.

(d) Regrooved tire means a tire, either original tread or retread, on which the tread pattern has been renewed or a new tread has been produced by cutting into the tread of a worn tire to a depth equal to or deeper than the molded original groove depth.
