I'm looking into a new tractor (first time owner) and considering the L2800 and L3200 (4WD HST for both). Is there a summary of the differences between these two models? I have read the specifications, and they seem very similar. If they were the same price, would you pick the L2800 or L3200? At what price difference would you pick the other model? Thanks for any information, I really appreciate it.

I just perused the Kubota website and they are very vague about the loader differences between the tractors mentioned. However there seems to be no difference in the hydraulic pump output. I would quiz your dealer about the differences specifically between the two before deciding.

I could be wrong so let's hope someone else chimes in to comfirm....

I think the L3200 is basically the same tractor as the L2800. The L2800 is going to be discontinued.

I think they tweaked the L2800 to get more HP into the L3200.??...

Kubota has a great reputation so I think you would be happy with either tractor.

Someone posted a link to the new tractors and improvements, but I can't find it. All I remember off hand is the one piece hood and ease of access though I am sure there is more to them.

The L3200 has the new body design which actually looks allot nicer and seems allot roomier. It has the newer loader, LA524 if you are looking into getting a loader. The LA524 is somewhat stronger than the older model which is the LA463.

I had to chose myself and instead of going with the L3700, I paid I think an extra $1000 and got the newer model which was the L3800 with a FEL and BH. With you, going from a L2800 to an L3200 would be a little more HP also.

The FEL on the L3200 has a curved boom which I like better.

The L3200 is pretty comparable to the L2800, just redesigned body and some improvement on the overall tractor.

The L2800, L3400 and the L3700 is going to be discontinued according to what my dealer told me.

If I am incorrect about anything here, sorry, but I just went through pretty much the same thing about a month ago and am going by memroy:) Not fun having to choose.

Also, will you be financing this through Kubota?

TripleR, I think this is the link you are referring to: Compare

I think I'd get the new model. They look really nice. That said you might be able to get a really good deal on the L2800. If they won't do that I'd go with the new one, it's really cool. Lots of technical information in this post. It could possibly be the same engine with a higher RPM rating thus the 2 extra HP.

Thanks for the info everyone. Thanks for the details lzicc, that really helps.

I would finance through Kubota if they have X months at 0%, but I would pay cash if they have a $1000 cash rebate. I see that the current finance and cash rebates expire on 3-21-2011, do you know if they always offer a discount if paying in cash?

Not sure if they have a rebate running on them or not. Never looked into that. The reason I asked about the financing is cause they are running some good finance deals (0%) on last years models. I was able to get the 0% on the newer model, but I had to pay like 3% more for the tractor. It's was worth it for me. The finance was the big kicker for me buying new verses used and the 3% extra which turned out to be about $500 was worth it to me to get the newer model.

I would think paying cash would be a good edge on getting a better deal if you have the cash, but not sure. I guess it would depend on the dealer. I didn't have the money to put out.

I went to 3 different dealers to get prices and the third dealer gave me the best price, in fact he was close to $2000 cheaper than the other dealers for the same exact thing. Plus the third dealer really took his time going over everything. I think now is a good time to buy since I don't think tractors sales are real high this time of the season.

Here is another thing I considered when going to the newer model, if I ever sale it, which I doubt, it would have a higher value verses the older model. Plus whenever they come out with a newer model, they always make improvements. They may be small, but I like that.

BTW, you're welcome. Just want to help out like everyone here helped me when I was ready to buy. Good luck!!

Anyway you decide to go you can't lose...It's a KUBOTA!!!! :)
