has any one tried the return line filters that utilize glass media instead of the commonly found paper media? my local supplier claims they flow better with less resistance during cold start-up and they filter better. Only thing I noticed with any certainty is the cost is 5x the normal cost of a filter.

Dear Wa****a,

I use them on other items. They have better filtration (higher percentage of particles trapped at a given micron rating). My engine filter is glass media, but I have not switched the hydraulic filter to glass media. (I haven't seen it in that size and micron rating, but I don't think it is worth it, given how often the filter is changed.)

Generally, I think that for an agricultural vehicle, I'd buy a reasonable quality filter and keep changing it regularly. I think the general level of dirt is more of an issue that the filter quality for PTs.

All the best,

Peter
