I've learded the hard way. You know your stuck and no amount of spinning tires or revolutions of the steering wheel can get you out. Just shut her down and start planning your extraction rather than making a bigger soupy mess.

Thank goodness for a 20,000lb hydro winch mounted behind the blade. Could have been a long walk.

What's up with the body armor out of curiosity? Looks like a tractor for rural warfare :D Will definitely keep anything from denting/damaging the chassis.

Nice work!

Thanks we have a few thousand acres of pine plantation here in Ga. Gotta put cages on our machines to keep the limbs from ripping stuff off the engine and it also protects the operator. It took about a month to build but it was well worth it in the end.

Yeap, I've even seen someone try to rock back and forth in the seat trying to move a 20k pound machine.

Not me, but this post reminded me of an old photo I had from about 1964. I guess they were trying to dredge out the creek or something. They didn't seem to mind a 10yo taking a picture of them, but what were they gonna do about it

Was that a 955/933 Caterpillar with a Ware backhoe attachment?

Hmmmm, I don't remember if I ever saw the rest of the machine and always thought it was a standard rubber tire back hoe. I just looked closely at the pic and I can see the word CAT below the operator station and the loader linkage does look like an old track loader.

Good eye Bob, I never would have thought twice about it and I just bought a 955L a few months ago. The bucket and linkage look smaller than my 955 so maybe a 933?

Sadly, I have nothing better to do than look at pictures. The 955K/L had the new style booms and self leveling bucket linkage. The pictured machine has the older 955H style boom and bucket linkage. But it is hard to gauge the size of the machine. It could be a 955E or a 933E. Ware made after-market hoes for crawler and rubber tired loaders. That, and the decal is almost legible on the boom.

Took me a couple hours to get out by myself.

This is as stuck as I ever had the old mahindra 6025, slipped into a trenched hole and had to dig her out with a track hoe. Traded up to a 4wd 8560 shortly thereafter. Wouldn't have another 2wd tractor. Not for the situations I get myself into.:)
