Deere Model Equivalent At CC/Yanmar??

OK, this topic came up in another thread, and it is above my paygrade.

Are there CC/Yanmar models that are, for all intents and purposes, equivalent to the JD 2305, 2320, 2520, etc, etc????

Anyone help us out with the straight dope?

I can't give you an equivalent match in a Yanmar, but a Sears Craftsman 'circa 1974' would most closely match the JD2305 due to the aluminum tranny. JMHO:thumbsup:

EDIT: I can't comment on the other models you listed without a visual inspection, but I doubt the CCY or Yanmar has lowered their standards to offer the 'aluminum' transaxle.

A lot of aircraft have landing gears made out of aluminum. I think if aluminum held up to the stress of landing an airplane, I think it's strong enough for a transaxle in a lawnmower.

I have a CC/Yanmar 2450, I think the Deere 2305 and the 2320 are equivalent.

I don't know what the Deere numbers mean, but I think the first is horsepower.

My CC/Yanmar 2450 is 24 horsepower and the 50 means a backhoe.

Are you looking at getting a Deere or CC/Yanmar?

What we were talking about on another thread is this. Surely some of the Yanmar CC tractors are dead twins (or similar enough) to the Deere, since Yanmar makes them both. It may be that Deere had models that Yanmar does not make a "twin" for it's CC. I honestly do not know.

Appreciate the insights folks might have. Surely some JD 3000 series tractors show up in Yellow/Black? Some 2000 series too? As Deere moves more and more "in house" this will likely prove a non issue a few years from now anyhow.

If I recall correctly.... the Cub EX3200 and JD 790 are largely the same, sep'n for the Cub's hydrostat.

Heard that too, but the 790 JD was replaced by Deere years ago. Not that the EX3200 is by any means a bad tractor.

If you want to call the re-naming of the 790 to a 3005 a replacement, then you may want to compare the two side by side! The CC/Y (model 3200 if I recall) is in fact hydro and looks like the 790/3005 series JD, certainly would be worth looking at if you're in the market.

No, the 2450 is MTD/Yanmar. The rear ends are totally different. The midsize tractors SC3200(?) are what was the 790 (i think). Only 2-3 models have direct Green equilivants. The rest are changed up are a fair amount.
