Is it possible that the silver color had anything to do with the accident?

We have had a couple silver cars & trucks in the family and it seems like people just can't see them. It had been especially prevolent with my wife's Beetle, so when we bought a new car for her it was a red SUV. Not as much people pull out in front of her now.

Don't count on RED being visible:( Was just reading about the number of color blind people and that's why Firetrucks are going with the bright yellow /green. Red becomes grey to those people!!

I have owned 2 red vehicles, that I have put 300k miles on, between the two, neither of them have ever been run into.

And a white van that I put 35K on, no one has hit.

The others were: dark blue, green, and black, for a total of 150k miles and they were each run into, one of them twice.

That's why I only buy red, if I can help it. :2cents:

Looks great. What kind of warranty did they give you on rust and the work they preformed?

By the way, nice looking truck. I have always like the looks of the Dodge and silver being one of my favorites does not hurt either. The pics you had before were so close up on the damage you could not see the entire rig.

All repairs to metals, including welding and application of materials to metals are warranted against cracking, flaking, pitting and corrosion for as long as I own the vehicle.

All paint related priming and paint work are warranted against blistering, peeling, hazing and loss of pigmentation for as long as I own the vehicle.

All mechanical repairs made in direct connection with collision damage are also warranted for as long as I own the vehicle.

This repair facility has the primary technician who performed the repairs meet the customer at pickup to inspect the vehicle and to explain all work performed.

After living with the F150 for 5 weeks, I can appreciate the things that make it a top seller. I don't think it's any better or worse than my Dodge, just different. My overall impressions were positive, and would strongly consider an F150 at trade time. I've not driven or ridden in a Silverado 1500, so I can't compare it to the Ford and Dodge, but I have a cousin and a nephew who own Silverados and they speak very favorably of their trucks.

It all comes down to what fits you best. I know I argue day in and day out on here but I really do what fits me the best. Not only interior comfort but how it performs towing and with a load behind it. Some like Dodge, Chevy, Ford, Nissan, and Toyota. We all have our favorites.

I am like you and when I drive others I find things I like about each, even Chevy. It comes down to the total package and what fits.

No, it does not become grey to us people. It's still red. I don't know how to explain it, but it is not grey. Grey is grey, just like it is for you. People who do not see color at all are out there, but they are VERY rare.

Color blindness is horribly misunderstood. We do not see in black and white, we see in color just like everyone else. We just don't see them the same as everyone else.

Example: I have "general color deficiency" so I have problems across the board. The real problem becomes in non-primary colors. The primaries themselves are not too much trouble, but once you start mixing them things don't look right. Blue and Purple are basically the same color to me. Because I don't see the red correctly in the Purple. Generally, you can deduce what color something is by comparing it to other things of known colors.

Also, while we see colors, identifying them is generally the issue, not seeing them. You learn to use knowledge a lot. A "dark" firetruck is red, grass is green the sky is blue.

I caused an entire town in Texas to flip their traffic lights the right way. They hung them all so green was on top and red was on bottom. When I look at a traffic light, I don't look at the color, I look at which light is lit up. I darn near killed myself driving though that town.

Like I said, it's really hard to explain. Never having seen colors the way "normal" people do, I can't really put words around it. To me, everything looks just like it should and always has. It's you guys that see it differently :). Even if they could fix it, I probably wouldn't do it. It would turn my world upside down and inside out.
