Maybe the second picture was where he put the snow he shoveled away from his car?
I hope those folks have a back door that opens in...and doesn't have the same drifting problem. We still have snow drifts almost that high across some of our windows, but belly-high is the deepest I've seen across our doorway.
Through some meteorological fluke, that March 7 NE storm totally missed us here in PEI.

Looks like that one is from the storms the dumped 7 FEET of snow (over the course on one week) on the Buffalo NY area several years ago.
I was in Buffalo in 2010 and talking about that storm with one of our suppliers. He was telling me how some folks (including a couple of his relatives) had to climb out windows to get outside. That picture Mace linked to fit some of his (the supplier) descriptions.

We got tons of rain. This year, the snow has mostly missed us and gone either above or below us. But, it's a swamp here. The river on the edge of our property crested the bank (which is 7 feet tall) and covered about 4 acres of our property with a foot of water. One good thing is, the trees that I was going to drag out of the river are gone now. The bad thing is, one very large prehistoric-looking broken tree and it's roots took the smaller trees' place...and it's so large that I can't cut it or drag it out. Guess I'll wait for the next flood to move it!

we are now under flood watches,
could be a couple inches of rain coming
between now and friday, with warm temps.

water levels were already high from last
weekends rain (before the 2' of snow)
so things may not be fun around here
for folks along rivers and such.

I heard that areas of Pennsylvania might get up to 7" of rain...if that happens it might end up being a disaster situation.

Around this area, it's calling for 2.5"-more then 3" on Thursday. We're on a hill, so there shouldn't be any problems (knock on wood). Low lying areas (like the small town we used to live in) will have problems.
