Obviously, your "game" is stuck in the early 90's when Dodge's actually had transmission problems. Get with the game DP, Ford's the one with the tranny problem now.

How is a 2003 2500 Dodge that ate 2 trannys in 68,000 miles the 90's?

Sorry but that is either complete crap or a very rare occurrence. Funny how 2 or 3 good trucks between you and your "neighbors" means all Ford's are the best but one supposedly bad truck must mean all Dodge's are junk. Too funny!

STOP. That is why good threads get ruined. You two need to leave it alone. You will never agree and add nothing positive to the thread with all that banter.

My father delivered mail for over 30 years then retired. He had a foot route the first 15 then we moved and he got a rural mail route the last 15. He tried most every kind of vehicle from step vans to suburbans, station wagons, blazers, even a used mail truck from an Gov't auction (the used mail truck was pretty beat but he got it cheap enough and replaced the motor and got a few more years out of it) He never had a pickup because not enough room for all the mail on his route.
His last several years he bought a used 4 door Checker Cab that had a rebuilt 6 Cyl Chevy motor. Other than brakes and regular oil changes that car lasted many years. So he bought a brand new Checker station wagon (there used to be a Checker Car dealer not to far from him) and kept the cab as his back up car but never really needed it. It was not 4WD but with rear chains on in the winter it never let him down. The Checker outlasted any of the previous cars he had which is probably why so many cab companies used them.
Checker driver trains were odd though, the cab and the new one he bought had the same drive trains which consisted of a Chevy 250 Cu In 6 cyl. mated to a Ford C-4 and a Buick or Olds rear. Body parts (fenders / doors etc.) were also interchangeable for over 20 years. Too bad they went out of business.

Rural delivery is very hard on any vehicle. Brakes and regular oil changes were the biggest problem my Dad had. He usually did a brake job and oil change once a month due to the miles and constant stop and go.

Around here all the rural mail carriers use Ford Explorers and older S-10 Blazzers.

They are plentiful, cheap, roomy, and 4x4.

That's what they use around here too...Mostly Blazer's and old Bravada's.

I see a bunch of old Subaru Legacy wagons around here and also wondered why they chose that since the boxes are so much higher. I guess it's just a cheap AWD.
Other than that, the rest are right-hand drive Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee Sports.

We used to see lots of Cherokee Sports around here but not so much anymore. I think they get tore up pretty good by the 4 wheelers around here by the time they make it to the used market. If they do make it to market they are priced way too high. I looked for one a few years ago and they were selling for more than Suburbans and Expeditions with comparable miles/years.

Tough drive line and good front and rear axle setup make them desirable. Tons of them around here sitting on 33's and 35's. They are cheap to lift and dress up. That 4.0 strait 6 can make some good low end torque and with minor modification like intake, throttle body, ect you can get some good power out of them.
