Do You Remove TnT for Some Impliments ?

I am getting ready to install Top and Tilt on my L3010 and have been thinking alot about how I will use it. One question that came to mind is; Are there some impliments where you would remove the TnT cylinders and go back to standard links, either for safty or to prevent damage to the TnT components?
What impliments are these ?
For me I am wondering specifically about my Farmi logging winch which can pull 6400 lbs. The top link sees the major portion of this.
Or am I looking at it the wrong way. Do you only put TnT on when you need it?

I don't remove mine, and have not found it to be a weak link.

If it proves to be with the winch, then you might think about removing it. Pull the pins and drop in the solid link, not much more to it.

I remove mine (reluctantly) for my s-tine cultivator. It will bind up and wreck stuff.

Gordon, I think that most people leave them on most of the time. Your winch capacity would be easily handled by a hydraulic top link. The only reason that I ever take any of mine off is that the top link has to be removed to use the post hole digger. I have heard that farmers don't care for them, but I do not know that for a fact.

Are you getting your "TnT" cylinders from CCM?

Are you getting your "TnT" cylinders from CCM?

I haven't talked to them yet but I was thinking they would be my first try. I'm looking at the 2" cat1 cylinder with the 21" to 32" range for the top link and don't know about the side link - need to see what they have. I'm trying to get educated so comments are welcome. Thanks

I bought my top cylinder from CCM and soon thereafter contacted them again for advice on purchasing the tilt cylinder. They did a fantastic job of un-selling me, basically leaving it up to me to call the piston stroke and for that, I wasn't going to gamble the bucks for something that might not have been correct. BTW my tractor is a common brand and model so I thought that they would have already had a track record with it. I bought a tilt cylinder from another company that was spec'd for my tractor and it works just fine.
The CCM top cylinder is built and works perfectly. Never having a TnT before just made me uncomfortable having to design the tilt cylinder so I went with what has proven to be compatible.

That pretty much describes my situation. How did you find the other company ? Simple Google for tilt cylinder ?

Like I said, the top cylinder was easy to spec with the given criteria on CCM's website but the tilt cylinder was only listed as a custom order. I did as a last resort call a New Holland dealer

and provided them with my tractor model. Turned out that a west coast (Chino, CA) company called gearmore.com had one specifically for my tractor. Look them up as they show a top and tilt setup in their online catalog. I do believe that they are just a distributor for the cylinders but I can't tell you who as there are no markings on it. I did pay a few extra bucks for it but it fits and works just fine.

Try here, If I don't have it, then there are diagrams to fill out so that I can build you what you need.

I'm fairly certain that I'm less $$$ than Gearmore. :thumbsup:

Surplus Center www.surpluscenter.com has the exact same top-link cylinders as CCM. As for tilt cylinders, that's up to you to figure out what you need and fabricate the mounting clevises.

I got my top-link cylinder from Surplus Center and I wouldn't be without it.
