Tractor
New holland TT75A
Hi to all of you. I have a New holland TT75A 4x4 tractor and came with 11.2-24 front tires and 16.9-30 rear tires. All of them are R1 type. I have a Bush Hog 325 brush mower which is pretty heavy. I use it for municipal cleaning of roads. I would like to know if there is a high ply ( 10 ply and above) R4 tires, preferably the rear ones. The four R1 tires mounted actually are only 6 ply. I've had two flat rear tires this month because of it. They are too soft and even a cut brush stump deflate them.

Any comments are welcome.

That is what I am asking, I don't really know. Rim size is above. It is a 30" inch by 15" wide. I'll check Titan's site to verify. Thanks for the info.

Odds are you will probabally need to buy new rims as well.

Most tractors have options for R1's or R4's. And the R4's usually have a smaller and wider rim. But whatever you do, you need to keep the front and rear size ratio the same or you will bind up the drivetrain in 4wd.

I dont know all of the pros and cons, but have you considered having them foam-filled??

It probabally isnt cheap, but it has certainly got to be cheaper than 4 new R4's and 4 new rims

hmm, did not know that they took different rims. learn something every day. I have never run r4's before i got them on this tractor. ive been told that they last alot longer on gravel roads because the rubber is stronger. lets hope so.

my old r1 tires still lasted quite awhile, but i dont want to have to shell out more $$$$$ soon on new tires.

Thanks grsthegreat, I knew that R4 tires are an option on almost any tractor manufacturer but when needed those tractors urgently ( we bought 2) and were available for inmediate delivery. And you are right, R4 options usually come in smaller rims. Just want to know if for some chance there is any R4 tire mainly for the rear 30 inch rims.

Tractor/loader/backhoes use an industrial type tire, but not sure on sizes. Might want to talk to a good tire store.

not sure abut the rim size, i know my tractor is 1" taller with the r4's installed....had to make sure it would fit in the barn overhang...it does

A few years ago I believed that ALL R4s went on wider rims with smaller diameter to make approx the same rolling circumference.

Since then I have learned that there are R4 tread style and load rated tires that fit Ag rims, so you MIGHT be able to keep the rims you have.
I think there is a thread about them on TBN and from what little I remember I think it was about Michelin tires.

Another option is to search around on Firestone Ag or Titan Ag web sites and look for an Ag tire that is rated for stubble - HARD AND SHARP stubble.
