All, thanks for the feedback, This might change some responses. I just got a new l3700 with FEL, Backhoe, boxblade, bushhog, forks, and post hole digger. This is really 95% for mowing. The fields are corrals with small fencing around them, and the house is a simple ranch, but yes have a couple wells, propane tank and the like all to go around plus the few dozen trees. ZTR, so some are suggesting go with another brand? The GT was because, smaller and easy to get in and not hurt the grass, but time is important and once a week or so I really don't have 4-5hours to spend on this. But paying someone costs more than the payment easily. how much do F's run?

make any sense?

Oh and in front of the house have two perfectly working but 45 year old concrete septic tanks and running the 3700 with a mower across them just scares me silly. Maybe the answer is a mower for the 3700 for the fields and the GT for around the house.

If you can afford it, you can't beat an F for purely mowing.

I have found the BX to be almost indispensable with a FEL as there are places you can't get a bigger tractor. I always encourage people to consider all brands as we switched from John Deere to Kubota after using John Deere for years and still own one. Different people like different things.

I considered all brands, kioti, massey, deere, mahindra, and new holland. but I found one common thing. New owners love them and older ones have things to complain about. Kubota had the least complaints, some sure, but less than all the rest after reading thousands of posts. I'm not tatooing their name on myself. But all inall, they seem to be the only ones that stand behind their products, you can get parts for them, maybe not always fast; and are a good value considering the longevity, which I doubt anyone would argue. Maybe it's becuase they've yet to outsource like all the rest do, Conglomterates that license a name, or make knockoffs. I would adore an american made, but in the absence, will support the company that seems to care about their products, and customers; and keeps 'control' of things. These are really very expensive for what we get, compared to cars and the like which all have issues after untold billions in R&D; and still have issues. Maybe in the end that's why I went regular L and not Grand. I just need it to start and do it's job. Hence the insainty of a 6-7K garden tractor. LOL! maybe I should be like the sheep and keep buying a new sears/walfart every year and forget about it. Getting off the soap box, sorry for the preaching it's been an especially rough year. None of these comments are directed towards anyone here, mostly the result of a bad day and well I'll be mums on the politics, I'm sure you can tell where I stand. ;-)

I drive over several septic tanks but they may not be 45 years old. Not sure that would matter but may. We've been over the driving over latteral lines before and I don't think there should be any problem with driving over the lines. Most people don't know where they are unless they can see the greener grass area and drive over them all the time.

I Have been thru several tractors and currently have a BX25 but for mowing the F is King. I have two. One for a rental property with several units and another one with 4wd for my hillside home property of 3 to 4 acres mowed. It's one of those I'll never go back things. I'll always keep a tractor for personal residential landscaping work but my mowing will be done with a Kubota F model mower. My first one will be paid off this year. I don't like mowing but if mowing can be fun, the F makes it tolerable to fun.:)

i chose the ZD331 over the F -- smaller footprint, and more maneuverable --

-- that said, i mowed 3 acres with a belly-mower b2400 for one painful season --

-- never again -- too slow and awkward -- !!

Well if Kubota will finance a second machine, I think I'm going for the Z. F is just too much $ for what I'm gonna use it for and if I did GT I think I'd end up with a mower behind the 3700 anyways for the corrals. That and less time wasted changing the attachments on the 3700. The BX seems great but can't justify a second FEL, and I think the Z will run circles around it for mowing. Looks like it's the 60" Z!
