I can do as much in two hours with a paddle broom as I can in a day or more of raking.

I use a leaf blower, after reading that advice on this site a few years back. I have a large Stihl hand held model, and it works better than raking. A back pack model would be much much easier. I rigged up a shoulder strap for my hand held blower to take most the weight off my arm. It takes several hours blowing the stone into piles or back to the drive.

Paddle broom is by far the best of the things I have tried. I rent it for about $30 and have been very pleased.

I'll have to try that next year, raking them is a pain.

I get terrible tendonitis in my elbow when I do that much raking. The leaf blower isn't bad by the way.

I've been using the shop vac for several years now. The gravel on my driveway is 1 inch or smaller so a 2 inch hose works great!

That is why I bought my new shop vac, rather suck up the stones then rake them.:thumbsup:

With the paddle broom I flip the drum over and pull the stones to me. It's a lot easier on the back.
