3540 Cab. Wish me luck

I guess it comes down to what I COULD save with that 1k.

The local guy will come get/drop of my tractor for service work for free, as it's so close.

The tractor I'm buying actually has 9 hours on it. That's because another customer had a warranty issue, and they gave him a new one to use while his was being fixed.

A dealer from far away just can't do that. Will I ever USE that kind of service.. probably not. The tractor SHOULD be very reliable. But what if it's a lemon, and needs many trips to the dealership?

Like I said.. I put the value of that piece of mind at 1k on a 30k plus purchase. You might be willing to put up with more hastle for the chance of saving that 1k. To each his own.

JP

I believe you made the right decision and you are lucky to have such a good dealer so close and so willing to accommodate.

What size tiller do you have for the 3940?

I have a RTA 1550. I purchased it a few years back when I still had my L2800. If I were going to buy one now for my L3940 I would be considering a RTA 66" or RTR 58 to 60". I haven't done enough research to know what it will take because I am trying to make do with what I have vs what I want.

Went to "visit" it today. Was helpfull to touch a few things, as I've been reading manuals.

Rear remotes were on. As was the heated rear and quarter glass.

I have them taking another look at the loader handle.. I don't think it was on right (with front hydraulics) the handle wasn't aligned right I think.

Stereo is in. LOVE the ipod cubby.

Just waiting on implements.

A little wet to do much driveway work. Grader blade peels it up nice, but it's clumping a bit. Poored this morning. Have to give it a try drier.

Pretty happy right now.

New tractor with blade, grading scraper AND a Mercedes Benz...now that is downright insensitive.

It is funny how much alike all of our garages are.

Oh and congratulations, very nice setup.

LOL.. the mercedes is one of those cars that's worth 4k that I've spent 12 on. :)

I keep running it because I love it.. that, and I make the biodiesel that costs less than a buck a gallon!!!

Plow is a HLA 2000 series. I'm really impressed with it. Seems real heavy duty. The angle seems fast on the 3rd function hydraulics.. but I probably won't bother to mess with a restrictor. Have to try it in use.

The Tundra lost it's garage door opener, and the mercedes will live outside now for good. Kubota has taken over the garage.

I left our conversion van out in the weather for about 18 months and finally put up a Carolina carport. Our tractors live in barns and sheds, but we still have one that won't fit anywhere.

The benz has 234k on it. It can live outside now. It's got an espar heater installed in it. Warms up to highway temp in about 20 minutes on about .05 of a gallon of kerosene. Almost as good as having it inside.
