I need to move some trailers from time to time around my property. Some accept a 1 7/8 or a 2" in ball and one has a pintle hook. So I deally I would like to use a receiver tube set up allowing me to swap out different hitch set ups.

What have others done? Can you include pictures?

I just got a short piece of receiver tubing, and welded it onto a 2x2 piece of box tubing, with the same material going up to the top link mount. Whatever hitch you need slides in and pins, just like on a pickup receiver. I welded a couple cut off 7/8 bolts on the end I had drilled for pins. Mine looks about like this: Flexpoint Adapter Turns Your 3-Point Hitch into Versatile 2in. Receiver, Model# FPHS-1 | 3-Point Hitch Adapters | Northern Tool + Equipment

I put my receiver tube underneath the cross piece, and the bolts on top. It's ugly, but it lets the ball get very low, so I can place it underneath a trailer that has sunken into the dirt if it's rained, or whatever. It's a pretty good setup. I use it for moving trailers around so I can mow on it, so I actually just use a 1 7/8 ball the whole time. I don't have anything with a pintle hitch, but the the smaller ball may go in there anyway. If I were doing more than moving them forward and backward 30 feet I'd hook them up properly, but I'm just using it to move them short distances to get behind and underneath to mow.

The place I bought my add on pallet forks makes a clamp on receiver hitch you clamp on the bucket is another idea for you I have thought about getting one.

Its IAM manufacturing or bucket solutions don't remember for sure.

How far are you moving them? A 2” coupler will sit on a 1 7/8” ball and stay put fairly well. It’ll even lock to some degree. Unless you plan on going on the road, I wouldn’t bother with switching out receivers. I’m pretty sure you can make that pintle work too, with a little “engineering”. :D

I agree on the using a 1 7/8" for both 1 7/8 and 2 long as its a screw down type and not a lever lock even at that just moving around the yard a lever lock would work fine whatever you get would be ok I think anyway.

I use a 2" screw down type hitch on my car trailer and pull it all the time with a 1 7/8 ball have done this for many years.

If you don't have a loader you could put a hitch on the front of your tractor. I've got front hitches on both of my little critters.

I like the hitch adaptor. I think I can make up one of those via welding.

I have a very steep back yard and I make sure whenever I trailer something that its hooked on right with safety chains....other wise it will take a very fast ride to the bottom of the hill and right into a pond!

Anyone use one of these quick hitches to hook up 3pt accessores? Any good?

why not check these out TractorByNet.com | Product Showcase ?

scroll down and look at th flexpoint model. All ready to go. If you already have a drawbar then use the flexmover instead to save money.

I have one and darn it I cant use it on the one thing I really need it for and thats my tiller its so dang heavy to get hooked up a QH is what I need.

Here is the rub my drive shaft is too short so I now need 2 shafts for it or not use it just food for thought since you may not have a bunch of money in attachments yet otherwise I like it!!

I built my hitch receiver so that I could lower it all the way to the ground, to get underneath any trailer that I needed, without having to jack it up. A benefit for you might be that you could lower the hitch to the ground and use it as an emergency anchor to slow down if your hills are that steep.
