2007 John Deere 3320
Started working on upgrading the bucket for my 3320. I did a lot of reading here and combined a few ideas from others. I wanted chain hooks, a receiver, a slip hook and some rings for ratchet straps. I also added 3/16 plate on the sides to thicken the cutting edge and provide a better anchor for the Markham tooth bar. The top of the bucket got 1 1/4 in pipe that had been sliced lengthwise and a 1/4 by 4" flat bar welded on. Let me know if I should change or add anything before she gets some paint.

Did you start out with the light duty bucket, or the heavy duty?

Nice looking job.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Clamps; will you remove them before painting?:laughing::laughing:

Did you add extra skid plate on the bottom of the bucket?:)

It is the light duty bucket so it needed some help. Never thought about bottom skids. Where are they put and how thick should they be?

Nice work, you made a HD bucket out of a Light duty. all those acs are going to serve yo well. I am especially fond of the center mount receiver hitch :thumbsup:

Can I ask, what do you guys do with those bucket mounted receiver hitches? I couldn't think that you are moving trailers around with the bucket, but do you?

Depending on the width of your bucket I would put at least 2 on a 4' and at least 3or 4 on anything bigger. Run them from the back of the cutting edge to the heal of the bucket. Stitch weld them on so when they wear thin you can get them off easy and put more on! 3/8"to 1/2" thick x 3" wide
I like your rings, nice!:thumbsup:

Absolutely, Not going down the road, mostly jockeying them around, storing them out of the way etc. Very handy.

This was an unconventional use, before I got a dump trailer, this set up helped me move loads of dirt a few hundred feet. much faster than running bucket after bucket full.

Just park trailer, load it with loader and grab it with hitch, drive to where needed and lift/dump.

Nice job. I'm getting ready to weld some hooks on my new L5740 and I like the 2 inch receiver with the hook welded to the top.

Whatever you want. Put a hook in there, a pulley, a boom pole, a hitch, a d-ring, a vise. Pretty much anything that you can weld or bolt to a 2" piece of square tube. Only limit is how strong your bucket/FEL is.
