trans repair jinma 284

need info on trans repair no forward gear reverse ok suspect internal shift fork. disconnected cable( shifted trans control arm manually) still no forward gear

I am assumeing you have shuttle shift?.

Check the roll pin under the right floor pan where the cable attaches to the side of the transmission to see if it has sheared off.

yes its shuttle shift the roll pin is fine I removed the cable the arm shifts but it only has reverse did not know if the shift cover can be removed with the shift armstill attached or if roll pin and arm must be removed and shaft stays in trans or can be removed all together

I finally got the time to pull shift cover off for shuttle as suspected fork broken ,only # on fork looks like casting # ,
(k-20)
After tearing garage apart I located the parts list manual that came with the tractor looks like the fork # is 254.37.522 Is this something that is in stock or will it need to be ordered?? If I have time I will try to call on phone Gary D.

That is the correct part number ...... In stock.

On a side note; You can purchase just the fork or the fork side plate assembly. SOME people have a hard time replaceing the fork due to the detent ball. You may want to take the fork off the shift rail (if you have not already) to check the condition of the detent ball and practice reassemble ?
