Mower OR Blower???

So which do you consider to be better seat time, mowing your lawn or clearing snow from the driveway?

To me nothing is better then the smell of fresh cut grass. I only wish it would grow faster, so I could get more seat time.

I do love blowing snow, now that I have a cab, but if I had to choose, I think I would go with mowing the lawn.

I hate both, but at least I'm not getting pelted in the face with ice when I'm mowing. Now, digging holes with the 'hoe, or pushing dirt around with a bucket or blade or rake - that's good seat time.

"Thats some high grass. What type of mower do you use for that?"

It's a Frontier RC1060, 60 inch, light-duty rotary cutter.

I really don't mind plowing snow, actually enjoy the activity. The thing I dislike about it is that I can't just do it at my leisure like I do mowing. With snowplowing, it's more of an "IF I DON'T DO THIS RIGHT NOW, I WON'T GET TO WORK THIS MORNING...." emergency. And it always seems to snow overnight so I have to get up at 4am (when the temperature is the absolute coldest of the day) to do the plowing...

In the winter I can always put another jacket on, but in the summer I can only strip down so far, and if I go to far others don't appreciate it.

I like doing snow better (I think ;)), but I'm ready for mowing...We were just discussing this same topic over at LMF...

Mowing is great fun.. Unless you wait a little too long to check the back of the property:( On the other hand, the lake is lookin' pretty inviting:thumbsup:

I was in that discussion. I figured I would bring it over here and see what the guys with the big rigs thought of it.

Both equal, I guess... enjoy seat time in both cases. However, the reason I got the tractor was to save myself time & body parts. Initally I had only the blower, and that reduced blowing time by about 50-60%, maybe a bit more. It was/is great.

But mowing.... that 60" deck reduced my mowing time from 4-1/2 to 5 hours with my push mower to an hour and a half or less!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about!:drink::thumbsup:

I have to say they are both great. Summer in the shorts and winter in the Johnson wool pants and coat. Wish the grass grew faster and it snowed more, but that is just me and my wife thinks I am nuts.

I'll take the mowing over the blowing,...well most of the time;):D. As another poster put it, mowing is your choice as to when you want to do it, snow doesn't give you a choice.
