Tractor
case 446 and sears 8xl and powerking
i have just found 2 power kings and they are completly different. the first one is a single transmission with a pull behind deck, rototiller, and a plow. it is in ok shape with a few dings or dents ( needs new steering)but hasnt run in a few years. my guess wound be a 1969.
the next one is a 1614 with a tandem transmission, chains, cat1 3pt hitch, a rototillar, plow, trailor, and a sleeve hitch. it is in realy good shape with no dings or dents.
my question would be how to price these things. what are the costs of the parts for it and how rare are they, etc, etc i have seen them before so i am not a complete idiot but need to know more:confused:

Well I paid $2500 for a 73 PK 2400 series. It has a FEL, MMM and has the tandem transmissions.

There is an individual here in Texas who has many spare parts for these machines. I don't have his address but I found him on the internet. He might have some impliments (i.e. FEL) but you'd have to contact him. I've really liked my machine and us it for smaller tasks. I've used the MMM for mowing ~25ac of 3+ ft. weeds but wouldn't recommend it without installing an oil temp. gauge (I did). For only a 14HP tractor it pulls well.

[edit] found the web site; http://powerkingtractorbarn.com/

I've gotten a few items from him and will be ordering again soon. Anyway IMO I think they're are a good tractor for the size and can be very useful. One thing I'm planning on doing is creating a PTO (6 to 1 gearbox) so I can put a small tiller on it for gardening or whatever. The one thing I like is according to what I've found out about them is that they were made with a lot of automotive components. Not sure what but at the time they were made they used a lot of off the shelf components. Might make finding parts possible thourgh various channels. I was hoping to find a picture of my tractor but not on this computer.

That's cool. Mine is from about 73 (need to check serial #). Like I said mine has a FEL, hydraulic 3pt and MMM. As I really don't need the MMM I plan on removing and creating a PTO shaft with gearbox to add small 3Pt attachments. Mine is definitely not original as I've had to rebuild the entire hydraulic system and have added a oil temp gage because I almost cooked the motor trying to mow some really tall grass.
