I've gotten a few items from him and will be ordering again soon. Anyway IMO I think they're are a good tractor for the size and can be very useful. One thing I'm planning on doing is creating a PTO (6 to 1 gearbox) so I can put a small tiller on it for gardening or whatever. The one thing I like is according to what I've found out about them is that they were made with a lot of automotive components. Not sure what but at the time they were made they used a lot of off the shelf components. Might make finding parts possible thourgh various channels. I was hoping to find a picture of my tractor but not on this computer.

Transmissions are same as Crosley cars.

Yep, it's a 1953 Economy with a 9 hp B&S engine (not original engine) I've got lots of literature for it and am part of the Power King Yahoo group so am set on parts. Rebuilt the tractor a year ago and put a new clutch in it this last winter. Solid little machines. Would love to have another with hydraulics and dual trannys (waiting for my ship to come in) :D They sure seem to go for alot of money. I could get a Ford 9n for cheaper sometimes.

Yep, main reason I got a new tractor is my PK just wasn't big enough for the tasks at hand (besides not having a PTO).

o yea i was actually wondering what wound be the weight of one of these things. i was thinking 1000-1200 pounds but not quet sure:confused: n for looknlearn i dont hav any pics yet but i will hopefully get some soon. i forgot to say but he still has the original manuel. :Dmy last question would be what to check on this machine when i get it. i was thinking the steering and transmission but dont realy have any clue where to start.

Nice that you get the manual. Definitely check the trannys. They have a tendency to get water in them. When refilling the tranny, don't fill it up to the plug in the sidewall. The manual should say, but if I remember correctly, it takes half a cup of oil?? or 1 inch below the plug. I would also check the steering, the differential and the drop-down bull gears in the rear. If it's got hydraulics, that should be checked also.

Somewhere I got some literature that gives the weight. I'll see if I can find it but I think it's close to your guess.

Edit. The weight is around 1000# standard tractor. Little more for the 24 rear rims, little less with smaller.

today i finally got the power king and man was it hard. it wasnt running so i had to put the blade up manually(it was stuck because of bent bolts) and then rolled it onto a trailor. the came the rototillor and that was a real pain in the but but i managed to get it. i had to come back for the trailor but that was the easy part. :licking:
i have to ask is it normal for the trannyies to not move much but still go in gear? :confused:and one more. why does it seem like one of my brakes isnt engadging as fast as the other?(the stearing was fine but had a little slop)
