Brian, does your 450 have Ford Sync, as it appears to be pretty loaded up with options.

No, it doesn't have the Sync system. It isn't fully loaded. It does have 2 way power cloth seats, power extending, fold-in, and heated mirrors, it also has the CD/MP3 player and aux. plug-in for any MP3 player. I miss my outside temp. gauge and compass. I also wish it had heated seats, built-in bluetooth, and climate control. I think I would have liked the manual mode on the Allison transmission too, sometimes it would be nice to downshift into 4th gear without having to give it more throttle or wait for the transmission to do it itself. But these are all things I can live with. So far I am still happy with it. I have put 1100 miles on it in 11 full days of owning it, so it is getting a workout.

Brian, my 04 F-250 did not have a Compass or temp gauge. I got a replacement mirror with both on Ebay for $75 or less. All you have to do is run the temp probe to the grill area and mount the mirror. It was also auto dimming so I had to get power for it but if I remember right it was already there under the headliner.

Brian, my truck has cloth seats and I added factory Dodge seat heaters for about $200. They were easy to install, took me about 3-4 hours total and they look factory. I'm sure Ford offers the same thing, it was definately worth every penny.

I'm looking at the same engine in a 2008 F350 srw so I'm interested in your experience with your new truck.

Anyone have any advice on a 2008 6.4L @ 75,000 miles?

I know a couple guys with F-350 SRW 4x4 trucks but with 1/2 the miles. No problems but they like the fuel. On average they get 1/3 less than my 6.0 F-350 SRW 4x4

For example we went to Knoxville last year. I was pulling 7,000# and my friend Dave was pulling about 2,500# with his. I was getting 5 mpg better than him pulling over twice the load.

14mpg is about average for these trucks with no trailer.

Thanks DiamondPilot. That's a real interesting mileage difference.

If you are looking for plain MPG and nothing more get a 07.5 and prior Dmax. They can get 18 to 21 out of the box. The 6.0L Powerstrokes are not far behind at 15 to 19. The early Cummins was pretty good also but dont be fooled, many had 3.55 gears. That being said the 7.3L Powerstroke did about the same as the Cummins. The older GM 6.2 and 6.5 were very good for economy, noting more. My uncle has a Suburban 2500 with a 6.5 and that thing will get 25mpg but it probably cost him $10 per gallon to drive the thing with all the maintenance issues. He only drives it maybe 2000 miles a year so its not a big deal to him.

None of the 07.5 stuff and later did nearly as good. They are starting to get the economy back with gear ratio's, trannys, and Urea Injection but its still a little shy of the early Dmax and 6.0L Fords.

Thanks, DP.......Yeah but I want it all. :D Towing capacity and good mileage. :D

Brian seems to be pretty happy with his but it has a lot less miles.

Would 75,000 on a 2008 give you any concerns?
