Clutch Noise???

The dealer came by today, tested the tractor out then made a few calls. He thinks it's the pilot bearing causing the noise. So he took it back to shop with him, he said they will split it verify what's wrong and fix it. But he feels like it's the pilot bearing and he said he would replace the throw out bearing while in there.

So far my dealer has been great to deal with. They don't even charge me to come out check things out and haul it to their shop. Which they could since warranty doesn't cover hauling.

I'll post another update when I get it back on what the verdict was.

Sounds like your dealer is taking good care of you!
Good for you and good for him!

G'day i agree with Roy you sound like you have got a good dealer who will go out of his way to make his customers happy ( as we all should:D ). Bit hard to diagnose over the internet but you may have a clutch plate that is a bit hard and shiny, his can cause a squawk/ squeal when taking off and is more noticeable in the higher gears as there is more load on the clutch when you take off. I do not think that this could have been caused by your new additions nor by your change of trans fluid, the pic of the inside of your clutch housing looks good as there is no sign of clutch material floating around but i think you need to lay off the grease gun a bit as you do not want to end up with grease on the clutch plate ( not good for it:(). Hope they find your prob and get you back up running quick smart

#2 on less grease. Lots of TO bearings are not greasable. As long as there's free play, they are rarely engaged. You sure don't want grease on your clutch disc. Probably the dealer will mention this when they split it.

I agree that you have a good dealer. It is good to know there are some still around after all the horror stories posted here. But really, you should not expect anything less on a tractor with only 56 hrs. You should be commended on your patience

Sounds great, that will be an easy fix.
Good dealers are a good find also.

Good for you. Good to have a dealer support you after the sale.

Update, I haven't got my tractor back from the dealer yet and they still have it split at their shop. They said that the pilot bearing had a bad seal and condensation must have gotten in and cause it to rust.

I'll post another update when I get it back and test it out.

Well, there you have it. I assume you are satisfied with that diagnosis and the problem will be solved.??

Must be a long wait not having your tractor around. Lonely.

Thanks for the update. Yesterday I was wondering how you were making out. It is a hard time of year for shops. I know my dealer/shop takes care of farmers and others trying to make a living with thier equipment first. Seems like the right thing to do but inconvenient for the rest of us at times.
