I have a GC2410 TLB and I just removed the backhoe to use the 3-point. The upper PTO guard is angled upward which I assume is for clearance for when the backhoe is attached. I can see how it would rotate to the normal position and be secured by the two additional bolts in the frame but mine will not rotate. I believe it is an issue of the two pivot bolts being too tight but there is no way to access them becaused they are between the frame for the backhoe and the inner frame work for hte lower hitch plate. Has anyone run into this issue or can anyone offer a suggestion?

A Metric wrench, Loosed top bolts, remove lower bolts, Pull down hard. Reinstall lower bolts, tighten all four to torque spec. Good to go.

I just loosen top bolts and remove the lower bolts, and leave it tight enough to be able to move it up and down. Then, when I install a rear pto implement, I reinstall the lower bolts.

how about a pic of this guys ? On my bota- the pto guard flips up and down. I can picture what you mean on the GC massey?
There's my issue. You can see in you pic how the nuts are welded to the guard for the bolts that are always in place (the pivot bolts). The issue is that the bolts must have been tightened too tight while the guard was up so now when I try to rotate it down the nuts just try to tighten them selves even more onto the bolts and won't let it move. The head of the two bolts are not accessible because of the backhoe frame work. I guess i could grind a slot in the ends of them both and try to loosen them with a screwdriver??

Are you sure the bolt heads are not accessible? On my 2410 they are. I have removed the bolts using a ratchet, if I remember correctly. There are holes in my BH subframe that allow access to the bolts that hold the guard on place.

The ones you are talking about are hard to get too, but with a wrench and a little patience, you can loosen them. I took me about 1/2 hr and a couple of beers:licking: to get them to see it my way.
.Well I finally got it. It took sticking a wrench between the frames and turning the pivot bolt about 1/16th of a turn at a time. I only lossened it up so much because I didnt want to have to tighten it back down 1/16th of a turn at a time. The next issue was the bottom corners of the guard that is against the frame hit a weld on nearby bolts so it had to be pursuaded to rotate where it should.

Here is the project I am working on to use the 3-point. It's a trailer mover from TSC. I am narrowing it because it makes the 3-point arms hit the BH mounts. It will be used for towing and I will make more modifications to it to drag logs.

Wow- you mean the bolt HEADS (for the PTO guard) are on the OUTSIDE of the frame?? If that's the case, no wonder you had a hard time!
On mine, the bolt heads are on the inside, with the nuts tack-welded to the outside of the frame; very easy to get a ratchet or wrench on the bolt heads from the inner sides of the PTO guard....
I currently have my BH on, and since I don't have any rear PTO implements (yet...), I've removed the 3PH arms etc. and the PTO guard.... but you can see one guard bolt protruding into the tacked-on nut through the one access hole in the BH support. (I just put those four bolts back in to keep track of 'em.)
