Where do you draw the line between a garden tractor and a CUT?

Where do you draw the line between a garden tractor and a CUT?

For most that line goes right through their wallet. I'm hoping a 2520 or something similar is in my future ........ retaining walls to build, a garden to expand, a driveway to redo etc, etc. I think the line as far as actual machinery goes has become pretty blurred over the years and it comes down to what the manufacturer says it is- size alone isn't necessarily an indicator.

I think you can classify them if their over 30 hp and they have ROPS,HAzard lights and even a Triangle. That would be my guess
I'm hoping to get a 38 hp Deere 3520 and soon ITs considered as a utility tractor that I know of.

to me a Catagory 1 3PH is a Sub or compact utility tractor.
The Thing they sell at the big box store is a Lawn Mower, disguised to look like a real tractor.

I JUST BOUGHT A 1986 AGWAY 600 LAWN TRACTOR, AGWAY MODEL 600 TRANSMATIC, MTD MODEL 136-632-019 IN SAD APPEARANCE AND SUPPOSEDLY NEEDING A REPLACEMENT GEAR ON THE ELECTRIC STARTER. THE TRACTOR WAS A ONE-OWNER MACHINE SERVICED BY AGWAY IN ITHACA, NY EVERY YEAR. THIS YEAR IT WOULDN'T START, SO IT WAS LISTED ON CRAIG'S LIST. THE B&S ENGINE STARTER GEAR TURNED OUT TO BE OK, AS WAS THE STARTER. ALL IT NEEDED WAS TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. THE NOISE IT WAS MAKING WAS THE STARTER SOLENOID CLICKING IN AND OUT.

I never pay attention to the TBN e-mail newsletter, but thanks for the heads up. It isn't quite a proper substitute for being a TBN MOTM, however....
