MF GC2400 that replaced retired CC 2518 and retired CC 2160
What RPM range does everyone mow at? Saturday looks like it's going to be dry enough to mow the lawn with new tractor. Thanks

I don't mow with mine, but I'm guessing you will want to be at 2600 to produce your 2000 rpm

I usually start in the ~2K range, but raise it when grass is higher or I am cutting the hills in 4WD and need the extra power.

I agree with blackd, I usually mow a little above 2k and adjust from there to suit conditions. (Grass height, density, and mowing ground speed, blade sharpness)

The thing about rpm and mowing is that you want to keep those blades moving rapidly for a good clean cut. Even with blades that really ought to be sharpened, if the blade speed --i.e., engine speed-- is kept high, it'll cut pretty darned well.

Long & short, I generally mow with rpm slightly higher than for other tasks, around 2000.

BTW- it does a great job of mowing, much better even than mowing carefully with a push mower; you're gonna love it!

Mowed today...this thing is awesome!!!! BUT......forgot about ROPS and crashed into air conditioner sticking out dining room window...LOL Had to put bottom frame of window back on. Guess I'll have to add a new window to my "to do list" PS Had to slow tractor down to get the "seat time" I'm used to. LOL

I know where you are coming from. I mow mine in a lot less time than I did with the old Cub Cadet.

I added lights to my Rops, so i gotta be careful..........gots more to lose, lol.

I drilled holes in the 'cage' around the turn signals and added 1 light to each side...........left side faces forwad, right side faces the rear.
