And this is a little bit of trivia for you...
In 1876 The Secretary of Navy out of respect for the Marines officially bestowed on the Corps by SECNAV Order that Marines are always afforded the position of honor at the head of all formations.... And since then no one has disagreed...
So while US Marines may be the rather small part of the Navy.. ya got to know that The Few, The Proud, The Marines......
