Hello All,

I just returned from ME and a drive on my Dad's BX.

He has automatic cruise control! The hydro pedal seems to stay engaged both ways. It takes at least 10 seconds before it slowly comes to neutral.

Is this a common BX problem?
Is there a spring in the linkage?
Is there a mechanical portion that needs to be cleaned.

My Dad is older and this did not seem to be an issue but it really is not safe to drive. It is especially bad because of the hills he works on.

Any thoughts? Parts diagram?

If it's like my BX2660, there is a grease zerk for the pedal rocker mechanism. That might loosen it up so the spring can act more quickly.

My 2230 takes a few seconds to stop until it's warmed up. It works fine
after the hydro oil is warm.

As mentioned, make sure it is lubed, I have owned two BX's and this is too long to return to neutral.

According to the manual, this zerk is supposed to receive fairly frequent attention from the grease gun. On my BX2350, it's found by lifting a flap of the rubber floormat right next to the fulcrum of the forward/reverse pedal.

Same here. There is a marked difference in how fast my BX25 comes to a stop when the oil is cold/cool vs hot. When it's just warming up, I have to hit the brake or the reverse direction pedal to get it to stop, but once fully warm, it will almost jerk to a stop. Not saying this is your issue, but it could be part of the issue.
