Jinma 284/Backhoe pressure test question

Bob,
Won't there be a slight indication on the gauge without activating a lever because of the open circuit nature of the system?

Actually yes, but just the laminar flow resistance of the valves and hoses and/or the resistance of a return line filter, wich will be just a few pounds with warm oil. Probably won't show up on a 3,000 lb. gauge, which I assume he is using. I hope. And all of the fittings are minimum schedule 80. :)

Bob, I have a 5000 PSI gauge.

There is something I need to check, but couldn't get to it today. Thanks to all for the info.

Ron,

So you are saying the pressure side goes to the left side of the valve block if you're sitting in the BH seat looking back?

Yes, you should be able to see this on the Hydraulic page of the exploded parts manual that you should have received with the backhoe.

Ron,

Thanks, that just confirms what I thought. Mine was hooked up the same.

Manual? That would be nice, but no, I didn't get one. Is yours available in a PDF? I would sure like to get a copy. I have been looking at the New Holland version on Ansung's site.

Ansung USA - Support - Parts Manuals - New Holland Parts Manuals.

That version is confusing because it shows the valve block orientation facing the operator as opposed to, which is how it's installed. To be more specific, the hoses are shown connected to the valve block facing towards the operator, when in fact, on my BH, the hoses connect on the back, away from the tractor. This leaves you guessing which is correct, and which side is truly left or right.

I checked things again tonight and the gauge worked using the same plumbing... no idea what the issue was... gauge stuck maybe?

Thanks all for the help. I am having an issue and when I get it resolved, I will give you all an update.
