Tractor
Yanmar 2210
Tractor has been sitting for several months. Last time running a bit rough & discovered very dirty fuel filter. Today we had 72 degree weather, hot battery, fresh fuel, new filter and a leaky fuel line replaced. Not starting.
Manual states to push throttle full forward and start. When engine catches pull back for slower speed. Never hits a lick with this procedure. If you pull the throttle back to low speed, it hits intermitantly on 1 cylinder and sounds if it is trying to start but never does. Getting whitish & bluish puffs from exhaust.
First time ever had any starting problems with this machine.
Any ideas?

I may be wrong but I believe when your throttle is full forward it is in off position, full back is wide open. Did you bleed the air out of the system after changing filter and line.

Sounds like they gave you a YM240 manual. That is the most similar model that Yanmar sold in the US. It had full support including English-language documentation. But the tractors they designed for here had the throttle reversed (to meet US standards) compared to Yanmar's Japanese-market tractors. A YM240 Operation Manual should just be a guide, not an absolute authority, for the similar YM2210.

I have a 2210 also. Great tractor. Thoughts for improvement ... is there an aftermarket two stage fuel filter available for the 2210? The OEM filter is a puny wimpy little thing that spells trouble. Also, is there an aftermarket straight exhaust available for 2210. That muffler is way too big.

May not be of interest to you and might not work with your set up but here is how I turned my muffler forward and then down. I mow under a lot of trees and the muffler sticking up was a big problem for me. Just a thought. Takes a little cutting and welding. Fumes are not a problem. I have a little 45 degree welded on the outlet of the exhaust that direct the exhaust out and down. As far as the filter is concerned I personally think the factory jobber is adequate. Again, that is just my opinion.
