Did I get a good deal on these implements

/ Did I get a good deal on these implements #21
Eric,

I received the 101 owners manual (pdf) from a fellow 'lister., but haven't gone through it yet. The setup can be found here with research. From a pure novice at this point, it involves raising your rear right wheel on blocks, then adjusting the bottom plow lever up or down, so that the plows rest level. At least you have used yours at this point. It will be another few weeks here as will still have frost possible.
regards,
steve

When I set mine up I put the wheels up on blocks and used the top link and the adjuster on the lower link to get the plow level. I just didn't know what the lever that rotates the offset draw bar that connects to the lower links is used for.

That lever you're referring to is call the "landing lever". You'll also here it referred to as "width of cut" adjustment. It is NOT used to level the plow. That's done (as you mention) by using the leveling crank(s) on the 3-point lower lift arms.

The landing lever rotates the offset draw bar which, according to the direction you rotate it, skews the tail end of the plow left or right. That's how you fine tune the amount of pressure against the landslides. That in turn makes the plow trail to the left or right of "center line of draft". And THAT makes the entire plow trail with the correct width of cut by the forward most bottom. Many mounted plows don't have a landing lever. That being the case, width of cut adjustment is done by loosening u-bolts that hold the offset draw bar and rotating it to where you want, then re-tightening those u-bolts.

When you adjust the landing lever, you put more (or less) side pressure on the landslides. More pressure makes the plow want to trail closer to the furrow side. Less pressure allows the plow to trail more towards the land side.
