Cub Cadet/Yanmar LX410
I was at the Cub Cadet dealer yesterday and I test drove an LX 490. I was really wanting to see an LX 410 but he did not have one. He said the LX series are all the same size just different engines.
I was very impressed by the machine it is built very rugged. The forward to reverse shifting is really something. The machine slows down and then changes direction.
All in all a very nice machine.

Lucky you!
I've only seen pictures, but they look like nice machines. So, this shifting thing....a synced shuttle-shift of some sort? need to clutch it? Sounds like something new, at least I've never heard of it.....new always scares me!
What was asking price? I saw one a few months ago for around 20K with a loader, must've been a typo, I went back looking for it and it was gone.....

Took the wife to look at the machine yesterday.

Yes the sync-shuttle shift is new and that is a cause of concern for us too. You only need to clutch it to change the range speed (H,M,L). No clutching necessary to going forward-reverse or change transmission gear.

The price for the LX410 is 26500 less 4000 for the free FEL. So 22500 which is a decent price given what the machien is.

The big concern we have is the new technology and the new model line. The dealer assures us that Yanmar tests their equipment better than any other rmanufacturer but you never really know.

We are strongly considering the machine. Kind of a choice between the LX410 and a Kioti DK35SE HST with a free loader at 21400.

Is that power shuttle transmission not the same as the Deere Power Reverser transmission used in previous 4x00 & 4x10 tractors (and maybe the current 4x20s)? Just curious as the current medium and small frame JD CUTs use Yanmar components and prior to the 4x20 series all JD CUTs had a heavy Yanmar influence.

It wouldn't shock me to find out that it is the same transmission that Deere used. This type of transmission isn't new, and there are a lot of them already serving reliably in the field.

Exactly what I was wondering, if another manufacturer has already been using/testing this tranny. I've heard of the JD power reverser but not very familiar with it or other types of trannies, wouldn't doubt it at all if it's the same tranny. I believe many current day tractors are using many of the same components, just different names/colors.
And yanmar has been around for quite awhile as well, I'm glad they hooked up with CC to help out their name & product line!
I have a few of the older CC models, thinking about upgrading in the near future.....
what are the advantages of the LX over the EX? Just a few more features?
I bet if you shopped around you could get that 410 for close to 20K....

good luck!

I thought the price of 26500 - 4000 = 22500 was a decent price. When I search the internet I found prices of 26995 - 4000 = 22995.
There is another CC dealer in the state maybe I should contact them.

As far as the advantage of LX over EX certainly the physical size of the machine and horse power are 2. The EX machines I saw were smaller and less hp.
I never spoke to the dealer about the EX so I have limited knowledge of them.

Who did you see first? New Boston Truck and Equipment are super nice people. If you haven't talked to them, give Bill Matheson, owner, a call.

I got a quote from Bill in New Boston for $1800 less than I had from the other dealer. I'll be doing business with Bill.
