I finally broke down & bought Noise canceling headphones. I went and upgraded to the new iPhone 4 & I'm a Pandora fan. I also decided to open a Sirius radio account that runs through iPhone. My iPhone works through the auxiliary in my Beetle. So I went and bought some noise canceling headphones to mow the lawn. I can't believe the difference! I went fro imposable to hear to hearing my iPhone as clear as day. I have to say they are about the best $70 bucks I have spent in a long time. I wish I did this years ago

What kind did you get? Are you going to list them in your sig as an important addition to your equipment?:D

Timber,
Electronics in general have become much better and cheaper for sure. If you had bought these years ago the cost would have been prohibitive and the results would have been less than desireable. I suspect now is the time to buy them, $70 is a good price if you are happy with them. I used to buy Koss and Senheiser headphones in the $300 dollar range (when that was a full weeks paycheck for most people) and doubt these are as good as your new ones.

I got them for Father's Day 2010 and have enjoyed them weekly since! It is REALLY nice to be able to listen to the radio while mowing (2.5Ac) and still be able to hear normal conversation when I am done.

They were purchased at Northern for about $65, feature 5 preset channels and an AUX input for your MP3/phone.

The only problem is if it is windy, at least with mine, you get a lot of noise. And here, it is always windy.

I bought mine at Home Dumbo, The are Ryobi Tek4 Audio Plus Noise Suppression Headphones I love them and I just might list them. The volume on the headset is for the microphone on the headset itself. The music volume is controlled by the source. If you turn the microphone volume all the way down it canceled the wind and everything else including people talking. The work great

I've got a phone with an Mp3 player and FM radio that I use with ear buds while doing carpentry or on the tractor. Sometimes I wear headphones over the earbuds for noise protection but it's kind of awkward and you can't hear anyone (like the customer asking you a question) without ripping everything off your head. Do you think these would these work for me, in other words can you get a cord to plug into them from an mP3/FM source device? Thanks

I have the John Deere ones that I love..

There is always one person that posts "i will never wear them because I want to be able to hear the engine and what else is going on" BUT you can still hear everything, just at a reduced level

Agreed, I have the JD unit as well and have no problem carrying on a conversation while waring them.
