This is the digger i built at the beggining of the year, it has since done the job it was built for and has now been utilised for its components for my new build- the Kubotasorus

What is the sproket for on the top of the boom pivot? had you originally intended to use a hydraulic motor for swing? How much swing did you have?

Seems a shame to dismantle it!

Looks good:thumbsup:

So what are the plans for the kubotasorus?? To convert that to a 3PH for the tractor???

Also, I only see two cylinders, a dipperstick and bucket cylinder. Is the main boom ridgid? Do you plan on putting a cylinder on it if it is? You are giving up a lot of capability if it is ridgid.

Yes, it originally had a motor (over 180 degrees swing, very unstable!) But the Speed was a little fast, torque (power at the bucket when slewing) was low, and its operation was very jerky (on/off) and slackened the chain drasticaly very quickly. I have no use for it now, so it made sense to me to use all the hydraulics for my next project, as these are worth more as parts than the digger as a whole.

I had to look hard to see the fourth cylinder but it's there. Missed that on the first look though. you can see one end of it in the last pic.:) It appears to be a very short stroke cylinder so I am guessing that the digging depth was not very much (or not very powerful)? Of course it could be a 4" cylinder

lol, with the weight of the boom powr was not the issue! depth of 5ft was ample for what i was doing with it (not wanting to end up in australia!)
