I have a solo, its a 5 gallon backpack and i have had it now for about 6 years.
I drain it every winter and use pump armor in in.
If you were looking for a heavy duty, back pack type pump, or a pump type handle.
what about an Indian tank. They are the fire extinguishers that hold 5 gallons and have a pump handle. Galvanized tank, and brass nozzle. There are newer ones out there with poly tanks but the nozzel is still brass. We used them at the boy scout camp I went to and worked at.

The polyethylene tanks are necessary for certain herbicides. I’ve had my 25 gallon sprayer I bought off Ebay for three years. $130, zero issues and I abuse it.

In the fall pump some RV antifreeze through your sprayer and that will solve the freezing/cracking issues

I think that is much more certain in some cases than trying to drain them, so that sounds like good advice.

Also, keep them away for sunlight...UV is a killer.
